FRQS 50th Anniversary

Québec’s Chief Scientist Rémi Quirion invited Olivier Daigle, CTO and co-founder of Nüvü Camēras, to present the advances in medical imaging based on space astronomy technologies at the Recherche intersectorielle : de l’infiniment grand à l’infiniment petit pour la santé de demain symposium. This event, to be held at the Montreal Science Centre on September 17, is part of the celebrations surrounding the 50th anniversary of the Fonds de recherche du Québec in Health (FRQS).

Montreal Light Microscopy Course 2014

Nüvü Camēras has hosted a Lunch-N-Learn on the topic of EMCCD Cameras: In vivo Fluorescence Quantification” during the 2014 edition of the Montreal Light Microscopy Course held at McGill University. The talk focused on fluorescence applications of EMCCD cameras in biomedical and medical research. Uniting graduate students, university professors, researchers and company representatives from the biomedical field, this course is widely regarded as a great success and enriching experience in learning about the wide spectrum of microscopy techniques in biomedical research.

ISU Space Study Program: AMOOS Project

July 15th 2014

René Jr. Landry, professor in Electric Engineering at l’École de technologie supérieure in Montréal, convened Nüvü Camēras’ CTO Olivier Daigle to attend and contribute to the AMOOS team project as part of the 27th International Space University Space Studies Program, held in Montréal from June 9th to August 8th. AMOOS, which stands for Autonomous Mission for On-Orbit Servicing, is a space debris reduction/removal project, and the attendance will also participate to a complete virtual mission to verify its viability.

2014 OSA-BIOMED

Molecular imaging results were presented by a student of Dr Yves Bérubé-Lauzières in collaboration with the CHUS and the NSERC. Nüvü Camēras’ ultra low noise EMCCD was used to provide the molecular imaging scanner with enhanced functionality and sensitivity. The improvement was remarkable.

Biophysical Society 58th Annual Meeting

Nüvü Camēras attended the Biophysical Society 58th Annual Meeting.

Raman imaging applications of Nüvü Camēras’ technology were presented by one of Nüvü Camēras’ student. The advantages of using EMCCD cameras in optical systems for Raman imaging were explained and demonstrated.

As part of the BiOS, a Nüvü Camēras’ student presented the advantages of using EMCCD cameras in Neurosurgery and Brain Imaging during 2 days exclusively devoted to biomedical optics.

The Canadian Photonic Industry Consortium invited Nüvü Camēras to introduce HNü’s ingenious cryogenic packaging. CEO Marie-Eve Ducharme and Mechanical Director Hervé Lavoie described its features to Canadian high tech camera makers.
